We are proud to announce that the Digitally Enabled Workforce (DEW) team has been recognised at the Digital Health and Care Awards 2026, winning the category of Digital Health and Care Team Award. This national endorsement highlights the impact they are making across Scotland’s health and social care system. Congratulations team!

The DEW team sit within NHS Education for Scotland and are the delivery partner for Scottish Government’s Building Digital Capabilities Programme. The programme priorities are to develop national resources and learning networks that support digital skills and digital leadership development across the entire health and social care workforce in Scotland.

This achievement reflects action in motion, with DEW enabling a workforce of over 400,000 to use digital and data to transform services.

Why this matters:

• From digital leadership programs that have developed hundreds of leaders to open-access tools used across NHS Boards, local authorities, social care, housing, and the third sector DEW is strengthening Scotland’s collective digital and data capability.
• The DEW resources, frameworks, learning pathways, and national networks are helping organisations translate Scotland’s digital and data ambitions into practical change on the ground.
• AI webinars, national communities of practice, and open learning hubs continue to unlock knowledge, shift mindsets, and accelerate digital transformation across the sector.
